Conservation in action! AZGFD employees recently conducted a deer capture and collar to help track the animals' migration patterns to and from the Tucson Mountains. The data collected from these collars will help inform future efforts that allow deer to continue making long-range movements while coexisting with humans. Good news for northern Arizona’s wildlife: we finished building a new pond at the Northern Arizona Shooting Range. Once the pond is filled, it will serve as a valuable source of water for bats, mule deer, elk, pronghorn and more! It will also provide a fantastic environment for northern leopard frogs.
