Also have heard some people mention texture packs which is something I'd also potentially be interested in. Ctgp won't be an option sadly.

Note that in case the mod is CTGP-R you need to follow this tutorial, as this mod uses it's own loader. And if it's Mario Kart Wii Deluxe, no loader or patcher is required, the file comes pre-patched.
