Luna Eclipsed is the fourth episode of the second season of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic and the thirtieth episode overall. In this episode, Twilight Sparkle tries to help Princess Luna appreciate the traditions of Ponyville's annual Nightmare Night, though its roots in the stories of Nightmare Moon complicate her effort.

Following the prologue, Twilight Sparkle looks up a prophecy about Nightmare Moon that refers to her as the "Mare in the Moon" and states that, "on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about nighttime eternal."

Jan 16, 2014 · Twilight Sparkle and Spike are preparing for the Nightmare Night festival, a holiday revolving around the legend of Nightmare Moon, who is stated to gobble up ponies who do not offer her candy. Twilight is in costume as Starswirl the Bearded, an ancient unicorn magician, while Spike wears a dragon costume.

Nightmare Night has come to Ponyville, and Twilight Sparkle and Spike are enjoying the spooky festivities (even if nopony recognizes Twilight's costume as the famous unicorn wizard "Star Swirl the Bearded").

After drinking the potion, Twilight finds herself in an unfamiliar castle with Princess Luna, who transforms into Nightmare Moon. Celestia enters and is attacked by Nightmare Moon, plummeting to the floor. As Twilight sobs over Celestia's defeat, the latter recovers and summons the Elements of Harmony.

Nightmare Moon is a major antagonist in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. She was the corrupted form of Princess Luna, the younger sister of Princess Celestia who was consumed by her own jealousy toward her older sister. As Nightmare Moon, she acted as Celestia's archenemy until she was restored to her normal form by the Mane Six.

Feb 20, 2023 · Well first, due to her research, Twilight was basically the only one there that actually expected Nightmare Moon's return.

Nightmare Sparkle is a lavender color fur. Her mane and tail are a blue indigo purple mist with pink and purple stripes and white stars in it making up the mane and tail, it's same as Twilight Sparkle's, only becoming Nightmare Moon's styled getting stars twinkling in them.
