Pulsed Dye Laser Therapy for Molluscum Contagiosum: A …
In contrast to the aforementioned treatments, the pulsed dye laser (PDL) has been reported to be a safe, well tolerated, quick, and highly effective treatment for MC without any apparent permanent adverse effects.
Pulsed dye laser therapy for molluscum contagiosum: a
PDL offers a novel and effective treatment for MC. However, the articles reviewed herein suggest PDL is a safe, effective, quick and well-tolerated treatment for clearing MC lesions that does not cause scarring or permanent pigment change.
Laser Therapy For Molluscum Contagiosum - Klarity Health Library
By utilizing pulsed dye laser (PDL) technology, laser therapy induces thermal trauma that triggers the body's immune response, effectively targeting and eliminating the viral antigens responsible for Molluscum Contagiosum.

Treatment of molluscum contagiosum with the pulsed dye laser …
The pulsed dye laser (PDL) has proven safe and effective for the treatment of many skin lesions, but little data exist for its role in the treatment of molluscum contagiosum. The purpose of this study is to describe the use, over a 28-month period, of the 585-nm PDL for the treatment of molluscum contagiosum.
Treatment of molluscum contagiosum with a pulsed dye laser
Methods: 19 children aged between 2 and 13 years (median:6) with molluscum contagiosum were treated in a prospective, non-randomized pilot study with the flashlamp pumped pulsed dye laser (wave length:585 nm, pulse duration 0,45 ms, spot size 7 mm, energy density 6-7 J/cm (2)). Results: All patients tolerated the laser treatment well.
