Folie à Deux turned out to be a major disappointment both critically and at the box office, and Sony's Spider-Man Universe failed to properly take advantage of a calendar year light on Marvel Cinematic Universe titles.

“Moana” added $26.6 million to its domestic total in its third weekend and $57.2 million internationally, bringing its global tally to $717 million. It’s now the fourth highest grossing film of the year, surpassing “Dune: Part Two.”

Disney’s “Moana 2” reigned at the box office for the third straight Friday, as the animated musical starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson saw $6 million in ticket sales, according to The Numbers.
