United States Attorney Joshua Levy said in a statement that he will step down on January 17, days before President Donald Trump takes office.

Acting U.S. Attorney Joshua Levy said Monday that he will be stepping down from his role effective Jan. 17. Levy tendered his resignation to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland on Monday afternoon, he said in a statement Monday night. Levy became the Acting U.S. Attorney in Massachusetts on May 19, 2023.

Levy said his resignation will take effect on Friday, Jan. 17, marking the end of his second tenure with the Department of Justice.
