No. 9 North Crowley stunned No. 3 Duncanville with a 36-34 win inside Eagle Stadium Saturday, snapping Duncanville's championship appearance streak. It was a matchup between Panthers, and North Crowley pulled off the upset on the back of two solid scoring runs in the first and fourth quarters.

North Crowley (Fort Worth, Texas) is taking some of the Saturday spotlight! The Chaparrals started the massive day by dropping No. 5 North Shore (Houston, Texas) 35-7, which sends the perennial Super 25 team to the Texas state finals while also creating a shockwave in the rankings.

Duncanville may seem unbeatable, given that Russell has thrown for 3,874 yards and 53 touchdowns this season, while beating a pair of nationally ranked teams, and is 16-0 in the playoffs in his career. But North Crowley can draw inspiration from legendary upsets, including one by seven-time state champion Todd Dodge.

North Crowley also brings in a phenomenal quarterback in Chris Jimerson Jr. The North Texas signee has thrown for 3,285 yards and 50 TDs, but North Crowley has really stepped up its run game, especially in the playoffs, averaging 307.5 yards in its four playoff wins.

The new premier Metroplex spectacle involves North Crowley vs. Duncanville: The Panthers of Fort Worth vs. the Panthers of Dallas. Both schools, in Texas’ largest classification, are undefeated and are nationally ranked by Max Preps as high school football powerhouses.
