Developers can try out the Android XR SDK now. Samsung has announced one upcoming set of glasses using the new OS.

But Google's not going it alone on Android XR. As teased last year, the first headset to run the new OS is being built in collaboration with Qualcomm and Samsung, the latter of which helped Google overhaul Wear OS in 2021,

Google says that Android XR will first be available on headsets. And, Samsung is going to be making the first device powered by Android XR, which is currently codenamed Project Moohan. It will be available for purchase next year.
