A powerful and damaging spring storm system that wreaked havoc on the South earlier this week is continuing to barrel toward the East Coast, where more than 64 million people from Florida to New

The weakening but still volatile weather system was moving Monday into the US Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, bringing thunderstorms, hail, damaging winds, and the potential for more tornadoes.

An "outbreak" of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms is expected through Saturday night in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and other southern states.

Storm threat windows on Sunday look to come in two rounds. The first is between 6 a.m. through noon. The second is between 3 p.m. through 7 p.m. The first round of storms will arrive near sunrise. These will again be decaying storms that have developed to our west. The severe threat with these is low but not zero.

The system responsible for producing deadly tornadoes in the Mississippi Valley and Deep South will be pushing east. But this is Pennsylvania in March, so naturally we will have little instability to work with – thankfully.
