EA Origin is shutting down. Here’s how to keep all your games safe
For a long time, EA games could only be purchased, downloaded, and played digitally via EA Origin (at least on PCs). Eventually, some titles became available on Steam. Now, EA is altogether discontinuing Origin, which will be effective April 17, 2025.

EA's Origin PC client has officially reached the end of the line. The gaming company had previously announced its plans to rebrand the Origin app for desktop players back in 2020 and began rolling out the new EA app in 2022.

In a pair of statements posted on its EA Help support page, the publisher informs players that Origin will be terminated on April 17 for both PC and Mac users.
