At 6:06 p.m. on Monday, the NWS Raleigh NC issued a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 6:45 p.m. for Durham and Orange counties. Residents should prepare for wind gusts of up to 60 mph.

The warning had been issued for Mercer County. "The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and has exited the warned area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm," says the National Weather Service.

The NWS Raleigh NC released a severe thunderstorm warning at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday in effect until 6:45 p.m. for Davidson County.
