Qatar reopened its embassy in Syria on Sunday after a 13-year closure following the downfall of the Bashar al-Assad regime. In a statement, the Qatari Foreign Ministry said Khalifa Abdullah al-Mahmoud al-Sharif was named as the country’s charge d'affaires.

Storyline: Türkiye reopened its embassy in Syria's capital Damascus on Saturday, becoming the first country to do so since the end of Bashar Assad's government. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on the same day that Türkiye will "stand by the people of Syria in their efforts to rebuild and restore the country".
