A senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer in Kerala were suspended over him involvement in a controversial WhatsApp group, accused of promoting religious division within the state's civil service.

N Prasanth IAS aka Collector Bro, known for his active social media presence and impactful social initiatives, was suspended for publicly posting 'derogatory remarks' against a senior IAS officer.

"While Gopalakrishnan's action sowed disunity within the All India Service Cadre, Prasanth's conduct undermined the public image of the state's administrative machinery," the government alleged.

The government’s suspension orders on Monday night cited both officers’ actions as serious indiscipline and violations of the All India Service Conduct Rules, 1968.
