Mark Scheifele scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Winnipeg Jets to a convincing 8-1 victory over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night.

Three-point nights from Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor helped the Winnipeg Jets cruise to an 8-1 win over the visiting Boston Bruins on Tuesday. Scheifele (two goals, one assist) scored in each of the first two periods for his 46th career multi-goal game,

For some, Scheifele was a surprise omission from the Canadian squad unveiled on Wednesday. Tied for the Jets goal-scoring lead with Kyle Connor at 13 and two behind Connor in points with 27 (going into Thursday night), Scheifele is playing some of the best two-way hockey of his career.

Kyle Connor had a goal and two assists, and Gabriel Vilardi and Nikita Chibrikov each had a goal and an assist for the Jets (21-9-0), who have won three of four. Connor Hellebuyck made 23 saves. David Pastrnak scored for the Bruins (15-12-3), who had won four straight. Jeremy Swayman made 27 saves.
