As monstrous floodwaters surged across central Texas late last week, officials at the Federal Emergency Management Agency leapt into action, preparing to deploy critical search and rescue teams and life-saving resources,

The Department of Homeland Security lashed out at CNN after the network reported Wednesday that Secretary Kristi Noem waited three days to send resources to Texas following the deadly flood over the weekend.

Secretary Noem reiterated her call to overhaul FEMA, saying "This entire agency needs to be eliminated as it existed and remade into a responsive agency".
