Facebook is down and users are reporting outages to downdetector, the site that reports problems with popular websites. The Facebook spike started shortly after 1 p.m. Eastern Time. The biggest problem occured on the mobile app, where 57% of the problems were reported. The site had another 33% of the problems. And it was happening all over.

Just before 5:30 p.m., the number of reported outages on Facebook had dropped to just over 1,200, Instagram reports fell to about 1,900 from a peak of more than 68,000 and reports of issues on WhatsApp and Messenger were far below their peaks.

Meta’s Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram social media platforms were down for thousands of users worldwide, including Pakistan, on Wednesday night, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.
