McDonald’s popular bagel sandwiches are back by popular demand. For the first time, the beloved breakfast offerings are available nationwide after limited releases in select U.S. markets in 2022 and 2024.

McDonald's said Tuesday that it is doubling down on breakfast by introducing bagel sandwiches nationwide to celebrate the Egg McMuffin's 50th anniversary. Why it matters: Breakfast is big business for fast-food chains and expanding menus can boost morning sales.

First introduced in 1999, McDonald’s Bagel Sandwiches—then, an egg plus protein of choice—quickly gained fans for being a comprehensive breakfast on-the-go. According to New York Post, the global fast-food chain took standalone bagels off its breakfast menu in 2020.
