The grassroots effort has been organized across social media sites using hashtags #buildtheresistance and #50501, calling on Americans to "fight fascism."

Hundreds of Washingtonians gathered at the Capitol building in Olympia on Wednesday as part of a nationwide demonstration called “50 States, 50 Protests,” rallying against President Donald Trump’s Administration and early policies enacted.
