Chantal downgraded to a tropical depression over the weekend and was moving northeast through Virginia early morning Monday as flash flood threats continued near the storm, forecasters say. There have been no local impact in Louisiana.

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Tropical Storm Chantal has left a devastating impact on Alamance County. The storm brought heavy rain, winds and flooding to many areas of the county. In response, the county has set up a call center to answer questions about the storm and its impact. The call center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The impacts of Tropical Storm Chantal continue to linger in Hillsborough. On Friday, town leaders will talk about the flooding of River Pump Station, which caused most of the town's raw sewage to spill into the Eno River.

Chantal, now a tropical depression, is expected to bring heavy rainfall to multiple states along the east coast on Monday, July 7.
