The Minnesota Wild beat the Montreal Canadiens 4-0 on Thursday night. It was another big win for Minnesota, who are chasing down the Winnipeg Jets in the Central Division. But the story of the night was Wild goalie Marc-Andre Fleury,

Fleury is retiring at season’s end, after 21 seasons in the NHL, which has included stops with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Vegas Golden Knights and Chicago Blackhawks before joining Minnesota. He is from Sorel, just outside of Montreal, and this was his last time playing at the Bell Center.

Marc-Andre Fleury never played for the Montreal Canadiens, but on this night he was celebrated like one of their all-time greats.

Even though he is expected to retire at the end of the 2024-25 NHL season, Minnesota Wild netminder Marc-Andre Fleury showed that he still has gas left in the tank when he blanked the Montreal Canadiens in a 4-0 win Thursday night.

Marc-Andre Fleury, playing his final game in his home province, recorded his 76th career shutout as the visiting Minnesota Wild beat the Montreal Canadiens 4-0 on Thursday. Fleury made 19 saves while tying Ed Belfour and Tony Esposito for the 10th-most shutouts in NHL history.

Fleury shut out the Canadiens in his final game in his home province of Quebec, earning a standing ovation lasting over two minutes.

Fleury's family is ready for his curtain call in Montreal as well. In an Instagram Story post, Fleury's wife, Veronique Larosee, shared a photo of her and their kids getting ready for the travel to Montreal. "Off to Montreal," Larosee wrote in part.
