China may introduce a round of retaliatory tariffs against the United States if Washington follows through on threats to raise duties on Chinese imports by another 10 per cent, Goldman Sachs has predicted.

Beijing is studying both tariff and non-tariff moves to counter the U.S. president's higher tariffs, per Chinese state media.

China has revealed the details of its response to new tariffs from the United States on its exports, with its commerce ministry adding a group of US firms to its export control list, slapping additional tariffs of 10-15 per cent on selected American goods and announcing plans to bring a case to the World Trade Organization over the matter.
