PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Gusty winds Friday helped put an end to Portland’s waterfront cherry blossoms prematurely. Wind gusts Friday nearly hit 30-40 mph along the Willamette Valley.

The Portland waterfront is decorated with hundreds of pink petals this time of year -- and on a rare sunny Spring day, many Portlanders gathered to experience the annual cherry blossoms.
