WNBA free agency has opened. Brittney Griner, Jewell Loyd, Kelsey Plum, Alyssa Thomas and Courtney Vandersloot are on the move.

We’re dealing with that now in Phoenix as the X-Factor deals with the departure of Brittney Griner, the most visible star in the history of the WNBA and perhaps all of team sports.

The 10-time All-Star announced via Instagram Tuesday night that she would be joining the Atlanta Dream in free agency this offseason. Griner had spent her entire 11-year career with the Phoenix Mercury after being drafted by them No. 1 overall in 2013. Now she will be joining the Dream on a one-year deal.

Things are heating up in Phoenix after the Mercury acquired 5-time All-Star forward Alyssa Thomas in a trade with the Connecticut Sun, per reports.
