Amazon signed Griffin and Nowitzki to join host Taylor Rooks when the platform begins its NBA package later this calendar year. Amazon will start its 11-year, nearly $20 billion agreement with the NBA during the 2025-26 season. The Athletic ’s Richard Deitsch previously reported that Rooks would be the host.

Amazon is filling out a strong studio show for its first year of NBA coverage, adding two stars to start the new year.

Amazon Prime Video is closing in on a deal to make Kevin Harlan its No. 2 NBA play-by-player when it begins coverage of the league later this year, sources briefed on the discussion told The Athletic.

Taylor Rooks, who has done incredible work with Turner Sports, will host the program. Ian Eagle, one of the best broadcasters in the game, is the lead play-by-play announcer for the network. It is unclear who else will join him in the booth.

According to the Atheltic’s Andrew Marchand, Dirk Nowitzki and Blake Griffin were announced to join Taylor Rooks as part of Amazon’s NBA studio coverage. Amazon and the NBA announced their 11-year partnership in July with games to begin streaming on Prime Video during the 2025-26 season.
