YouTube says it has expanded its AI-powered auto-dubbing to “hundreds of thousands of channels” in the YouTube Partner Program that are “focused on knowledge and information.” YouTube says it will bring the feature to “other types of content soon.

A year-and-a-half after YouTube first announced it, the platform's AI dubbing service has arrived. The company shared the news alongside some example videos equipped with auto dubbing (which we'll get into in a bit).

YouTube announced on Tuesday that its auto-dubbing feature, which allows creators to generate translated audio tracks for their videos, is now rolling out YouTube's auto-dubbing feature is now rolling out to hundreds of thousands more channels.

YouTube's new dubbing tool takes English audio and automatically dubs a French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish track. A video in any of those languages will receive an English dub. The voice is slightly robotic for videos translated to English but still perfectly understandable.
