The ways to easily remove numbers from the left in Excel are not unique to numbers. You can use this same formula to remove other characters from a string of values in Excel.

Press the "Backspace" key to remove the individual character preceding the flashing text cursor. Use the "Left" function to remove a specified number of characters from the left side of a text string.

You can remove leading, trailing, and extra spaces between characters and numbers in Excel using TRIM(), SUBSTITUTE() or Find and Replace.
