Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) says it has formed its own government as it marks two years of a vicious power struggle with the Sudanese army that has left tens of thousands killed and millions homeless.

The United Nations said that at least 300 people were killed when the armed group, the Rapid Support Forces, stormed a camp in Darfur.

Sudan's paramilitaries have declared the formation of a rival government to the country's armed forces, two years into a war that has become the world's largest humanitarian crisis. The leader of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Mohamed Hamdan "Hemedti" Dagalo, said the group was "building the only realistic future for Sudan".
