Remedy Entertainment held a Capital Markets Day 2024 to discuss the future of the company, but also said the future sequel Control 2 will be an Action RPG.

The studio confirmed that Control 2 will move to an action RPG format, with Control’s previously-announced Mac release coming in February. Remedy made the announcements during its 2024 Capital Markets Day and summarized the news in a post on X.

Remedy Entertainment has revealed new information about its upcoming projects, along with providing a sales update on its existing games. While the first Control was an action game, its sequel will be an action RPG, hinting at somewhat overhauled game systems.

Remedy Entertainment has announced that Control 2 will be an action RPG. As part of the company’s Capital Markets day results, the Finland-based developer revealed that the sequel would add RPG elements, but shared no further details. Control Ultimate Edition will also released on Mac on February 12.

Control 2, a sequel to the 2019 action-adventure game from Remedy Entertainment, is currently in development as an action RPG, according to a slide that the Finnish video game developer released today for Capital Markets Day 2024.

Remedy has provided a rare insight into the business of making video games, even going as far as to reveal exactly how many copies its future games need to sell in order to break even.
