China hopes that India and Pakistan will show restraint as a neighbour to both countries, Reuters reported on Monday, quoting a foreign ministry spokesperson. This came in response to a question about the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam in India's Kashmir that killed 26 people.

India has halted all trade with Pakistan in response to Pahalgam terror attack. The move has escalated tensions between the two countries. India has closed the Attari-Wagah border and the decision is expected to put on hold the cross-border trade of Rs 3886.

The decision was on the recommendations made by the Ministry of Home Affairs following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed lives of 26 people, mostly tourists.
