Ohio's new budget gives the state control of $1.7 billion in unclaimed funds. Here's how to check if your money is in that pool.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has signed a two-year, $60 billion operating budget that flattens the state’s income tax and sets aside $600 million in unclaimed funds for a new Cleveland Browns stadium.

Ohio has a $4.8 billion unclaimed property fund, which includes various sums of money owed to state residents. Among those with unclaimed assets is former Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. There exists a 10-year time limit on those funds before the money is transferred back to the state.
