A system critical incident declared for health and care services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has now ended thanks to the hard work of staff and the support of local people.

Health bosses in Cornwall have declared a critical incident as the county's services are "under significant pressure". The NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board said it made the decision on Friday due to a period of sustained pressure on the Royal Cornwall Hospital's A&E department in Truro over the previous few days.

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said a critical incident had been declared because of sustained pressures at Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals. A spokesperson said beds across both hospitals were full and attendance at emergency departments was "extremely high".
