MENASHA (WLUK) -- The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office confirms the body of an Appleton man was recovered near a vehicle submerged under ice on Little Lake Butte Des Morts. Officials were called to an area about 30 yards from the Ninth Street Boat landing in Menasha around 3:18 p.m. Monday.

Authorities say they removed a vehicle from under the ice of a lake in Winnebago County on Monday and now they say they have also recovered a body. According to the Menasha Police Department, officials have confirmed that a vehicle and the body of an Appleton man were found and removed

Authorities from Winnebago County removed a vehicle from Little Lake Butte des Mortes on Monday. Local 5 was at the scene near the 9th Street boat ramp where the Neenah-Menasha Fire Department was helping to recover the vehicle.
