The Veilguard developer BioWare has released a new patch for the game and in the same breath suggested it’s basically done with it less than three months after launch. As spotted by Eurogamer, Patch 5 includes just one quality-of-life improvement and a number of bug fixes,

The Veilguard might have only been released a few months ago, but the developers are moving away from this game.

A new game, particularly one ten years in the making after a GOTY-winning sequel, underperforming by a full 50% is dire. You’ll also notice from the wording there that it says “engaged” not “sold,” as this number includes those who might have played via EA Play. So sales are likely not much above a million.

Patch 5 for Dragon Age: The Veilguard is available to download now on PS5, weighing in at around 500MB. But it's actually BioWare's patch-accompanying comments that are the big talking point here, as it suggests that support for the action RPG is already coming to an end.

While the wording of the post seems to suggest EA and BioWare want to put a positive spin on ending updates for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the fact remains that the game sold disappointingly for the company, coming in at around half of EA's expectations for the quarter in which it released.
