There will be no captains' photoshoot or conference in Pakistan before the ICC Champions Trophy, a source in the host cricket board told PTI on Thursday, ending the possibility of India skipper travelling to the country for any pre-tournament engagements.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to begin on February 19, will reportedly start with the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony at Gaddafi Stadium is set for February 7, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expected to attend as the chief guest.

The uncertainty regarding Rohit Sharma's trip to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy has been resolved. The India captain will not be required to travel to Pakistan, as the ICC and PCB have opted to cancel the opening ceremony and captains' photoshoot for the tournament.

Unlike the 2023 World Cup when captains' press conference and photoshoot took place, such events are unlikely to take place for the 2025 Champions Trophy. According to media reports, two teams are due to arrive late to Pakistan, due to which captains' meet and photoshoots faces cancellation.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), along with the International Cricket Council (ICC), will host the opening ceremony of the 2025 Champions Trophy on February 16. The ceremony will be held at Huzoori Bagh, inside the historic Lahore Fort.
