Highway 6 was closed in the area for several hours during the investigation. The mainlanes have since reopened.

The all-clear has been given after a bomb threat prompted the evacuation of the Brazoria County Courthouse and Downtown Angleton on Thursday morning.

The threat prompted the entirety of the downtown Angleton area to be evacuated and a nearby school was placed on secure mode for hours.

ANGLETON, Texas — An all-clear was issued around 1 p.m. Thursday, a few hours after the entire downtown Angleton area was evacuated due to a bomb threat near the Brazoria County Courthouse.
