Meta’s Horizon Worlds VR will shut down later this year, with the company confirming that it plans to sunset the offering in the next few months. Meta launched Horizon Worlds VR for the Meta Quest lineup of headsets a few years ago right at the height of COVID.

Horizon Worlds was supposed to help make virtual reality mainstream.

Users will not be able to create new spaces in Horizon Worlds, but the Meta rep says “existing user-created worlds are included.”
