Oklahoma’s president and athletic director have given coach Brent Venables a vote of confidence. The Sooners are 5-5 overall and 1-5 in league play during their first season in the Southeastern Conference.

Statements released by presidents and athletic directors are usually a cause to sound the alarms and push the panic button. Most of the time, they prefer to stay out of the spotlight and mind their business.

Speaking at the OU Board of Regents meeting, Joseph Harroz and Joe Castiglione offered Brent Venables a vote of confidence.
