For three weekends, the Theater Company of Lafayette is celebrating the 100th birthday of “The Twilight Zone” creator Rod Serling with a playful nod to his groundbreaking work.

Serling's comedy about the Cincinnati Reds was broadcast only once on television — live on NBC — in 1955 until WVXU revived the script as a radio play six decades later.

Also, Serling's service as a paratrooper in World War II altered the way he walked. "His gait was a little off," said the actor. To compensate, he sometimes walks on set with a pebble in his shoe.
