The next astronauts heading to the International Space Station are preparing for launch at Florida’s Space Coast.

The astronauts and Crew Dragon capsule that will fly SpaceX's Crew-9 mission to the ISS have made it to Florida's Space Coast for their planned Sept. 26 liftoff.

SpaceX's Crew-9 mission to the International Space Station on Sept. 26 will be a rescue mission of sorts, bringing up empty seats for two NASA astronauts currently in space without a ride home.

Crew-9's SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to lift off at 2:05 p.m. EDT Thursday from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

Only two of the original four members of SpaceX Crew-9’s mission to the International Space Station arrived to Kennedy Space Center on Saturday, making room on their future ride home next year for the pair of NASA astronauts left behind by Boeing’s Starliner.
