The Republican National Committee has sued the city of Racine for failing to hire more Republican citizens as election inspectors during the partisan primaries and instead mostly selected volunteers unaffiliated with either of the two major political parties.

The Republican National Committee has filed a lawsuit against the city of Racine, claiming the city didn’t hire enough Republican poll workers for the August primary election. The lawsuit comes as skirmishes between the two major parties over voting ramp up with less than 50 days before Election Day.

The Republican National Committee filed a lawsuit against Racine, Wis., for allegedly not hiring more Republican poll workers for the primary election last month, contrary to state law. The RNC announced the lawsuit on Tuesday after filing it on Friday.

The Republican National Committee announced Tuesday that it is suing Racine for allegedly failing to hire the appropriate number of Republican election inspectors for the Aug. 13 primary.
