Riviera Beach Mayor Ronnie Felder suspended City Manager Jonathan Evans for 10 days without pay Wednesday, stunning City Council members who said they had no advance notification of the decision.

During a special council meeting on Friday night, it was revealed that the Riviera Beach Police Chief has resigned as interim city manager.

Riviera Beach is holding a special council meeting Friday evening after the city manager was suspended Wednesday for what the mayor called "neglect of duties."

For several months an independent investigator interviewed dozens of employees within the city of Riviera Beach. She wrote in the report that the city manager has not properly supervised and directed the assistant city manager.

A Riviera Beach woman was arrested Friday for the murder of her husband. She had reported shooting him in a call to police in January.
