EDMONTON, AB – The Edmonton Oilers announced Tuesday they have acquired forward Isaac Howard from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for forward Sam O’Reilly. The Oilers also announced Howard has agreed to a three-year entry-level contract beginning in 2025-26.

The deal severs ties with Howard, whose relationship with the Lightning soured this summer when he went unsigned following a stellar season at Michigan State in which he led Division I hockey in points per game and won the Hobey Baker Award as the top player in college hockey.

The Oilers acquired forward Isaac Howard from the Lightning in exchange for forward Sam O'Reilly, both teams announced on Tuesday. The Oilers then announced they signed Howard to a three-year, entry-level contract.
