Norfolk announced that the city's police chief, who has been on administrative leave since August, will be retiring at the end of the year.

The Norfolk City Council approved the retirement of Chief Don Miller and the resignations of Capt. Chad Reiman and Lt. Josh Bauermeister, who have been on administrative leave for months.

The Norfolk City Council voted Monday to approve settlements with three high-ranking members of the city’s police department. The council approved each agreement by a vote of 7-0, with one councilman abstaining because he has family on the force.

In a follow-up to news from Monday night that the city of Norfolk has accepted a settlement with Miller and two other police officers after they were placed on administrative leave, Miller has announced his retirement.
