Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has had hip replacement surgery at a U.S. military hospital in Germany after falling while at an event in Luxembourg with other members of Congress.

Nancy Pelosi has undergone hip replacement surgery, her office announced Saturday, after the former House speaker, who traveled with a congressional delegation to Luxembourg, fell down marble stairs. Pelosi, 84, received a “successful” hip replacement and is “well on the mend,” her office said in a statement.
