Workers making minimum wage in Virginia will be making 41 cents more per hour in the new year, which comes five years after a law was passed.

Virginia workers, can start getting ready for a small, but not insignificant pay bump in the new year. The state’s hourly minimum wage will increase to $12.41 starting Monday, Jan. 1, 2025, giving workers an extra 41 cents per hour.

Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin vetoed a law in March, which would have raised the minimum wage to $ 13.50 per hour for 2025 and $ 15 per hour for 2026.
