Dozens of people gathered overnight on the street that was home to one of the Mexican naval cadets who died when their training vessel hit the Brooklyn Bridge.América Yamilet Sánchez, 20, was in the final year of her studies at the naval academy when she was killed aboard the naval teaching vessel Cuauhtemoc on Saturday.

Two crew members aboard a Mexican Navy sailing ship died on Saturday night when the vessel drifted into the underside of the Brooklyn Bridge, smashing its masts and rigging.

The Mexican Navy said earlier a total of 22 people were injured, 19 of whom were taken to hospitals.
