At around noon on Friday, snow sets up out to the west and throughout the afternoon and early evening blankets all of Southeast Lower Michigan. Most areas pick up a quick 1-2” with as much as 3” in a few locations. Round 2 arrives Sunday into Monday.

A very cold start ahead with temps in the single digits with sub-zero wind chills. Sunshine returns today at least but snow is closing in for Friday.

The signature moment of this three-day event is 6 p.m. Saturday when a 7-foot tall tower is transformed into a giant bonfire. The snow could affect the evening commute. Another cold front that moves in Sunday night could bring a light dusting of snow early Monday morning. The secondary cold front could affect the Monday morning commute by creating some slick conditions.

Saturday and Sunday look mainly dry, with another chance for snow late Sunday into Monday. In the meantime, temps stay chilly, with no big warm-up on the horizon.

Bitterly cold temperatures continue with highs only in the 20s and lows teens. Some light lake effect snow showers are possible today with better chance Friday.
