MENASHA (WLUK) -- The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office confirms the body of an Appleton man was recovered near a vehicle submerged under ice on Little Lake Butte Des Morts. Officials were called to an area about 30 yards from the Ninth Street Boat landing in Menasha around 3:18 p.m. Monday.

Authorities from Winnebago County removed a vehicle from Little Lake Butte des Mortes on Monday, December 16. Local 5 was at the scene near the 9th Street boat ramp where the Neenah-Menasha Fire Department was helping to recover the vehicle.

MENASHA, WI — The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Dive Team recovers a vehicle with a body inside Monday evening. The dive team, sheriff’s deputies and Menasha Police officers were dispatched to the 9th Street boat launch in Menasha. A wrecker and tow truck were also at the scene.
