LSU needed transfer wide receivers after losing senior Kyren Lacy (exhausted eligibility) and senior CJ Daniels (transfer portal). The Tigers are only bringing back two wideouts, redshirt sophomore Aaron Anderson and junior Zavion Thomas, who had more than five catches during the regular season.

Former Georgia Tech wide receiver Eric Singleton told On3 his top five schools, and LSU was joined by Auburn, Miami, Texas, and Ole Miss. According to 247Sports and On3, Singleton is the No. 1 ranked transfer in the 2025 cycle.

Nebraska redshirt junior edge rusher Jimari Butler is transferring to LSU football. Butler was a starter for the Cornhuskers for the past two seasons, accumulating 22 tackles, seven tackles for loss and two sacks this year.

Butler is the first front-seven addition for LSU this transfer season. Defensive end is a position of need with Bradyn Swinson and Sai'Vion Jones moving on to the NFL and Da'Shawn Womack transferring to Ole Miss. Butler, who has one year of eligibility remaining, chose LSU over Florida State and Texas A&M.
