Russia is appealing to Israel to show restraint in the crisis with Iran, and believes Tehran is exercising its right to self-defence, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov was quoted as saying on Monday.

"Yeah, I would be open to it," Trump said, as cited by ABC reporter Rachel Scott on X. "He is ready. He called me about it. We had a long talk about it. We talked about this more than his situation. This is something I believe is going to get resolved.

French President Emmanuel Macron has rejected the idea of Russian President Vladimir Putin acting as a mediator in the conflict between Israel and Iran. Macron said Russia does not have the credibility or legitimacy to take on such a role,
